Namibia, Africa — A Vision in Motion
The Shekinah Wells Healing and Empowerment Campus is not just a building project — it is a prophetic assignment. God placed in Verie Johnson's heart a vision to build a world-class facility in Namibia that will serve as a beacon of hope, healing, and transformation for the most vulnerable members of society.
"I have seen the pain of my people. I have seen the women who have no refuge, the young people who have no future, the families who have no hope. God said to me: 'Build it. I will fill it.' And so we are building."
— Verie Johnson, FounderNamibia is a nation of extraordinary beauty and extraordinary pain. Behind the stunning landscapes and the growing economy lies a crisis that demands a response.
Namibia has one of the highest rates of gender-based violence in Africa. Women and girls are in desperate need of safe spaces, trauma healing, and legal support.
Drug and alcohol addiction among Namibian youth is at crisis levels, with limited recovery facilities and support systems available, especially in rural and peri-urban areas.
Suicide rates among Namibian youth are alarmingly high. Mental health services are scarce, underfunded, and often inaccessible to those who need them most.
High unemployment, especially among youth, creates cycles of poverty and hopelessness. Vocational training and economic empowerment programs are urgently needed.
Young people in Namibia are struggling with identity, self-worth, and purpose. Without intervention, many fall into destructive patterns that affect their entire lives.
Beneath all the social challenges is a deep spiritual hunger. People are searching for truth, meaning, and a God who is real. The campus will be a place of genuine encounter.
A safe, confidential, professionally staffed facility providing trauma counseling, legal advocacy, emergency shelter, and long-term healing programs for survivors of abuse and gender-based violence.
A structured, faith-based residential and outpatient recovery program for young people battling substance addiction, offering counseling, life skills, spiritual formation, and reintegration support.
A seminary-level discipleship program offering in-depth Bible teaching, theological training, and ministry formation for emerging leaders, pastors, and church workers.
School-based and community-based programs helping adolescents develop healthy identity, self-worth, decision-making skills, and suicide prevention awareness.
Practical training in marketable skills including sewing, catering, construction, IT, music production, and entrepreneurship — equipping people to earn and build sustainable livelihoods.
A creative arts program using music, drama, and the arts as tools for healing, expression, and community building — led by Verie's husband, a gifted music producer.
Sports programs and physical wellness activities that build teamwork, discipline, and healthy bodies — especially for youth who need positive outlets and mentorship.
Regular community outreach programs, street evangelism, school visits, and church partnerships that extend the campus's reach into the surrounding communities.
The campus is being planned for the Okahandja / Swakopmund corridor in Namibia — strategically positioned to serve both inland and coastal communities. The Swakopmund area has been identified as a priority location due to its growing population, tourism infrastructure, and proximity to underserved communities.
Land acquisition is targeted for December 2026, during Verie's planned return visit to Namibia. The local representative and point of contact on the ground is Eben Kasume, who is actively monitoring land availability and government processes.
